ISSUED ON BEHALF OF FARRANS (CONSTRUCTION) LIMITED
FARRANS AWARDED £10 M CONTRACT FOR COOLKEERAGH ESB POWER STATION
Farrans (Construction) Limited is delighted to have been awarded the civil engineering sub-contract package for the new CCGT Plant at Coolkeeragh ESB Power Station. The contract value is approx. 16m euros and includes the design and construction of all foundations, superstructures and siteworks. Farrans, the Province's premier building and civil engineering contractor, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Ireland 's fourth largest company, Cement Roadstone Holding, the multi-national buildings materials group based in Dublin . This project will add to Farrans' impressive portfolio of major infrastructure projects throughout the UK and Ireland . It has a long tradition of working in the north-west and notable projects such as Tesco Lisnagelvin, Foyleside Office Block, North-West Institute and Derg Water Treatment Works stand as testimony to its reputation. "This contract should be a tremendous boost to the local construction industry's supply chain and Farrans will be seeking to further develop the excellent relationships it has established over many years with local suppliers and sub contractors", said Eamon Sweeney of Farrans.
Farrans and its designer, the Babtie Group, is excited at the prospect of working with VaTech and Coolkeeragh ESB on this prestigious project. It is confident that with its emphasis on team working, design innovation and construction excellence that it will deliver a quality project for all to be proud of.
