Coolkeeragh ESB Power Plant
The principal contractor for the construction of the Coolkeeragh ESB power plant was a consortium of General Electric, from the United States and VATech Hydro, an Austrian company. There was a two year construction programme with 700 people working on the site at the peak of construction, many of whom were local contractors.
The plant is at the final stages of its commissioning and testing and is scheduled to start commercial production at the end of the month. |
